Twilight Saga: New Moon trailer...

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON trailer in HD

The biggest shock in this trailer is that the film lacks the distinctive blue/gray palette of the first film. While the colors are much brighter and richer, the film lacks the distinctive 'art-film haze' of Twilight. New director means new visual style I suppose, but I prefer consistency when I can get it with franchises. Aside from the last shots, there is nothing special about this teaser. That last shot is a doozy, an impressive transformation scene that basically promises fans that 'yes, this time we have an ample special effects budget'. It's not photo-real, but it is a nice bit of cheesy movie magic that is surprisingly effective. I'm assuming that the next trailer will expand a bit, especially regarding the newer characters (such as Graham Greene and Dakota Fanning) and the new bits of mythology. I've never read the books, so this will all be news to me.

I'm just gonna lay this one out there...this was one of the worst trailers I have ever seen.

It's viral video bad...the acting is flat, the drama is nonexistent and that last shot -- Jacob turns into a big fluffy CG dog, not a werewolf. I don't know what you're talking about here, Scott -- that transformation is hideously terrible -- like worse than "Cursed" bad.

I am honestly embarrassed for everyone involved, most notably Chris Weitz. I expected something fresh and exciting -- a new direction, not more of the same, only worse.

Looks like Summit is basically churning out dime store films to pander to a demographic that just doesn't give a damn, as long as it's pretty. That's a true shame. Maybe Catherine Hardwicke isn't to blame after all.

Did anyone notice how she ran away from Laurent and then ended up at Jacob's house in the trailer. The meadow where Laurent confronted her was pretty far from Jacob's home. And then he transforms into that retarded looking wolf right in front of her. She doesn't even find out he's a wolf that way. They must of changed the entire plot because that was a main element driving the second book. Throughout New Moon she is just hanging with Jacob, it's not until the last quarter that she finally finds out he's a wolf, not right after Laurent nearly attacks her as depicted in that ill-directed trailer. My god, I hate film adaptions of books.

And that girl's acting is just the worst. Her lack of enthusiasm and wit in her lines make me want to puke.

I am however happy to know that Catherine Hardwicke isn't directing the sequel. A college student can provide more creative camera angles than she does. Honestly, in the scene where Edward 'comes out' to Bella she circles around them with the camera so many times I got falshbacks of Cloverfield's crappy cinematography.
