This first major glimpse at the new supporting cast for Iron Man 2 comes from
USA Today. How I do appreciate it when the filmmakers make a token effort to actually make the comic book villain look how he/she does in the comics. Unless you're going for hardcore realism (ie - Nolan's
Batman pictures or Bryan Singer's first
X-Men), you really ought to try to make your four-color baddie resemble himself on the silver screen. It's not an exact match, but it's close enough to likely tickle the hard core fan base.
As always, the masks are usually the first casualties as most actors would prefer that their face not be covered up for the majority of their screen time. Anyway, I had not the foggiest clue who Whiplash was, so I checked out the official
Marvel Comics bio-page. It's pretty thorough for those naive souls like myself.
