Once again, I must remark that this looks like Reign of Fire with giant robots instead of dragons. Still, Reign of Fire was a pretty compelling survival story, albeit not much fun (free tip - movies about people scavenging for food are not going to earn repeat business). At this point, this one feels quite intense and quite character driven. Yes, there is spectacle, but this may end up being much better and much smarter than anyone expected. The rampaging T-800s are pretty scary, and I'm genuinely curious if McG and Warner Bros are still trying for a PG-13. Frankly, at this point, the story being told feels compelling enough as to not need R-rated gore.
