Here is Roger Ebert's long, lovely essay marking the ten-year anniversary of Gene Siskel's shocking, unexpected death at the far-too young age of 53. It's really been ten years. I always appreciated how Whoopi Goldberg took a moment at that year's Oscars to eulogize the man whose advocacy did so much for so many young and/or challenging filmmakers. Pardon the obvious sentiment, but ten years gone and we all miss the man terribly.Scott Mendelson
