As for film criticism, the future clearly lies with blogs and sites like this, where quality prose can breathe and live and find whatever readers find it worthy. But it is a shame that the tradition of the newspaper film critic, the very thing that aspired me to first love movies, has so quickly been destroyed in a little under two years. He is not the first person to sound the alarm, but this is the one that most people will read... the sound of doom from our most trusted film critic.
