Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus gets a US trailer.

This looks like the kind of visually whacked-out wonderland that we expect from Terry Gilliam, and I do adore the Candyland/Super Mario Bros landscape at the 44 second mark. I'm not the world's biggest die-hard Gilliam fan, but he does occasionally knock it out of the park (Twelve Monkeys for example). Ironically, thanks to Health Ledger's untimely death, we have the once in a lifetime treat of seeing four different actors playing the same part. So who will be the best at playing the white-suited trickster? Is it Health Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, or Collin Farrell? It is often said that the Oscars and other awards are inherently unfair because they judge five actors for playing five very different roles. Wouldn't the fairest, some ask, be to watch five actors try the exact same role? Well, you'll get that rare opportunity when the film opens on Christmas Day and expands wider in the new year.
