GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra poster...

It'll probably be better than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, right?

  1. I know that you liked (but did not love) Star Trek and that UP is a big deal for you, but can you remember another summer where the blockbusters were this bad? I guess I mean to say, is it just me or has this summer really been dissapointing?

  2. Kyle, I didn't even like Star Trek... Not since 2001 (Planet of the Apes, Pearl Harbor, Fast and the Furious, Swordfish, Scary Movie 2, Cats and Dogs) have the summer film choices been this poor. This year, you basically have Up and The Hangover, and that's about it. While there is no reason to assume that Harry Potter 6 won't be at least as good as the prior films, that's about it for worthwhile tentpole filmmaking this summer. And take a look at the summer 2010 slate... it's even sorrier (you have Toy Story 3, Iron Man 2, Twilight 3, Shrek 4, and that's about it). Of course, as I noted in a prior post, 2011 is going to be absolutely insane.
