Haven't liberal activists always jumped to the defense of people like Howard Stern when he makes derogatory remarks about women? Didn't I see something about this in "The People vs. Larry Flint"? I think people are forgetting that "El Rushbo" is just another shock jock, albeit with a different format. The only reason he's as "powerful" as he is is because people like the president of the United States, the House minority leader, and the House minority whip keep responding to him. Honestly, did this even warrant a call from the president? No, it didn't. The hypocrisy of jumping all over Limbaugh when liberals have said and done far worse to women over the years than calling them "sluts" on air has entirely to do with the election season. How many news stories on the homeless, the jobless, the deficit, or the price of gas have taken the top spot of the hour on any news cycle since Rush's latest "outrage"?Stephen Mark Monteithhttp://www.facebook.com/stephenmarkmonteithnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6937848248469121586.post-61021982869756721362012-03-06T17:19:17.249-08:002012-03-06T17:19:17.249-08:00I wish the terms of it were framed differently. Taxpayer money was not involved at all, and Fluke was testifying about a friend who used the pill to treat ovarian cysts. I'd like to see consequences for news-type pundits who don't tell the truth - get some real consequences behind THAT - rather than make this about name-calling, as he successfully has.Luke Y.
